❝The "Bastille Day", the French National Day celebrated on the 14th of July, comes originally from the opening of the jails of the Bastille prison in Paris by the population who wanted to free those imprisoned by tyranny, at the time of French Revolution, in 1789... 223 years later we still celebrate this event because it symbolizes our most precious values, which are the motto of the French Republic : the fight for liberty against tyranny, for the equality of all in the eyes of the law and for the fraternity of mankind. Today, this message is still essential. We need more than ever, tolerance, justice and fraternity. We share with the Republic of the Philippines those very same values, that inspired the EDSA Revolution in 1986. So, let's celebrate, on the 14th of July, our common commitment to Democracy.Vive les Philippines, vive la France!❞
